Results of Board Meeting on August 27, 2009

The Governing Board always meets the Wednesday following the Discussion Group meetings.  The Discussion Groups met on Sunday, August 23. This year the meeting was scheduled for Thursday night instead of Wednesday at the request of  a couple of Board members.

The Board listens to the reports from the newly elected representatives from the Discussion Groups and decides if there are any issues that need to be voted on at the Annual Meeting on August 30.

The Board decided that there were no items that needed to be voted on this year. Neither are there any elective offices to be filled. In 2010 the Director, Secretary, and Treasurer positions will all be up for election.

The Board also set the dates for the association tournaments:

    A) Fall Friendship State Tournament will be on October 24-25

    B) Winter Friendship State Tournament will be the final weekend in March - March 27-28

    C) DQT and D-2 for the 9-13 age divisions will be the same as it has been: the last weekend in April for Regionals (April 24-25) and the first weekend in May for the state finals (May 1-2 - there may be games on Friday April 30)). We are planning on only holding two Regionals - one in Roseville, the other in Burton.

    D) DQT and D-2 for the 14-18 age divisions will not have any Regionals. The Board has decided to run the event in a single weekend - the first weekend in June (June 5-6)

Many other topics were discussed that arose in the various Discussion Groups but none were adopted that required a vote by the membership (which would involve any change in the format or a change in the amount charged).
