COST OF TOURNAMENT
The cost of the fall and the winter state friendship tournaments will be $275 with a four game guarantee. Last year the entry fee was $240 with a three game guarantee. While the entry fee is higher this year, there is a four game guarantee so the actual cost per game decreased. For a more detailed explanation click here

FORMAT OF TOURNAMENT
This will be a grade based tournament despite the fact that the divisions will be referred to as 14:U, 15:U, etc...
We would like to have three divisions of competition for the fall and winter state friendship tournaments - D-1; D-2; and D-3. D-1 being the most competitive. D-2 would be "travel teams" and D-3 would be school/community based teams. Be sure to indicate what division you want to compete in when you register.
We will be using a new format this year. There is a four game guarantee this year. We will have pool play this year which will determine a team's position in the brackets. There will be pools of three and four teams. If you are in a three team pool, you will play two games. If you are in a four team pool, you will play three games. If two teams are tied in pool play (same record of wins and losses), place will be determined by "head to head" competition. If three teams are tied, "defense" will be the tie breaker. The total number of points allowed will be added up and the teams ranked from the lowest score to the highest.
All teams advance from pool play to bracket play. Every team will play a minimum of two games in bracket play but it is NOT a double elimination bracket. Any team that loses after the first round goes home.
The brackets go both ways (right and left). Winners also go right and left. The #1 and #4 seeds will go to the right. The #2 and #3 seeds will advance to the left. The final teams in the brackets on both the right and the left will play for the championship.
