2008 PROPOSAL A

This proposal asks for approval to reduce the cost of the entry fee for association tournaments. We would like to reduce the entry fee to the participating teams to make the tournaments more attractive to prospective participants.

This can be accomplished by reducing the amount paid to the hosts for each game played. To compensate for the loss of this revenue, the host will be allowed to charge a dollar more for admission. This will increase the admission fee from $4 a day to $5 a day. The hosts should actually increase the revenue they earn.

The association will also benefit. By reducing the amount paid per game by $15, the association should save close to $12,000. Last year there were 781 games played in association tournaments.

Unfortunately the cost will be passed on to the parents and spectators. But a five dollar daily admission is still a great deal and less than many high schools are charging for one game.
